This website is designed to assist you with the process of researching and planning for your future pathways.
The links at left will lead you to a variety of areas. It is advised, however, that before you seek the 'facts', you take the time to consider the following points:
- There is no longer such a thing as a 'job for life'. Be prepared for change. On average, people of your generation can expect to change careers, not simply jobs, three to five times over a working life.
- We are here to help, but it is not the school's job to tell you what direction you should take. We will listen, advise and help with preparation, but ultimately the decision is yours!
- Start your ideas early. Give yourself plenty of time and space to explore the full range of opportunities that are open to you. Starting early also gives you time to change your mind and whilst you are still at school.
- There is no such thing as a 'right' pathway. Plumber or paediatrician, cabinet-maker or cartographer, electrician or environmental scientist—you need to choose what you think will make you happy.
- Finally, keep in mind that everyone is different. Some of you might have dreamed about a particular job since primary school, others are still uncertain.
